North Riding FA Team Up with Her Game Too

Her Game Too is dedicated to tackling sexism and discrimination in sport.

North Riding FA is proud to announce our new partnership with Her Game Too, as we work together to eradicate sexism and promote gender equality in sport, to ensure football across North Riding is completely inclusive.

We firmly believe that football is a game for all, and feel incredibly strongly about the issues behind the formation of Her Game Too. Established in 2021, Her Game Too is a passionate movement that is completely dedicated to tackling sexism and promoting gender equality within the world of sport.

In recognition of the challenges faced by women and girls in sport, Her Game Too aims to create an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of gender, can enjoy and participate in sports, without fearing discrimination or harassment.

These are all aims that align closely with what North Riding FA strives for across football in North Yorkshire, York, and Teesside – and we’re proud to unite with Her Game Too to amplify the message and promote the movement.

Her Game Too have done incredible work raising awareness of the issues women face in football; celebrating female fans, players, and professionals; and working alongside clubs, organisations and governing bodies like ourselves to foster a supportive and equitable environment.

Eve Ralph, Co-Founder and Director of Her Game Too, said: “We are really grateful to all the people and organisations who continue to allow us to grow our work and collaborate to ensure football is a game for all. Since launching in May 2021, we have grown and developed to support women and girls in all areas of football - from players to officials, coaches to journalists and all other roles that are involved.

“As of July 2024, we have over 75 partnerships with professional teams, and our work stems from England to Wales and Scotland, USA, France and Greece. Our aims and objectives include; continuing to raise awareness to sexism in football, creating opportunities for women and girls to get involved and to educate people on the importance of fostering an inclusive mindset and environment.

“We have partnerships from all different areas and are proud to support people only just starting out their footballing journey - all the way up to advising and supporting professional teams and bodies.”

Steven Wade, Chief Executive Officer at North Riding FA, said: “Her Game Too is an incredible movement addressing key issues affecting females across the game which we feel passionate about combatting. Football is a game for all, and all females; whether they be players, officials, supporters, volunteers or those working within the game at any level, should be able to enjoy their experience without any fear of discrimination or harassment. Enhancing the diversity within football and ensuring equality across all areas is something that will continue to be at the very heart of our work in the coming years – and we look forward to working with Her Game Too in amplifying their voice and creating opportunities to collaborate in our shared work.”

Jasmine Morris, Football Development Officer (Women & Girls) at North Riding FA, added:
“The growth of women and girls’ football in recent years has been incredible, but we want that to continue and become stronger than ever. Through working with Her Game Too and continuing our joint mission of ensuring that the game is free from sexual discrimination or harassment, we can create an environment across North Riding that makes more women and girls feel comfortable, safe, and happy within their role in football.”
