To support The FA’s new Futsal strategy, North Riding FA held its first-ever Futsal Festival on Sunday 6 January at University of York’s state-of-the-art sports arena.

The day was split into two categories (U8s and U10s), with over 200 young boys and girls getting involved – many of whom were playing the sport for the very first time.

The event couldn’t have taken place without the support of York City Futsal, who were on hand to support grassroots coaches with the rules. They also provided first-team players Fabio Fonseca and Rolando Sandoval to referee the matches, along with first team manager, Junior Roberti.

Titled ‘Fast Forward with Futsal’, The FA’s new Futsal strategy aims to drive participation and make this fast, exciting format of the sport become England’s indoor game of choice for young players.
