North Riding FA is disappointed to see Thornaby Football Club’s announcement relating to the club’s plans to withdraw their support for their women and girls’ teams. 

In recent years, we have seen unprecedented growth across the women’s and girls’ game across the county, and we are fully committed to ensuring all women and girls can access and play the game – whether that be in schools on in their local community.

North Riding FA has been in contact with Thornaby Football Club and representatives of the club’s women and girls’ section. We will now be in continued dialogue with the club to see if a suitable resolution can be agreed
